Kyle Douglas Janes was born on 12/21/95 in Fort Collins, Colorado. He grew up in northern Fort Collins with his sister Jessica, parents Steve and Joann, and Max their dog.As a child, Kyle enjoyed having sleepovers with friends, going on family camping trips and vacations, having air soft battles with his sister, and playing in a variety of sports. Kyle was a natural athlete, gifted in just about every sport he tried. He took 1st place in the state on the parallel bars in gymnastics. He was an accurate and promising pitcher in baseball, until shoulder issues began. He also enjoyed football, basketball, wrestling, snowboarding, ping-pong, and his favorite - - skate boarding. Kyle could often be found skating with friends at Edora and Northside Skate Parks.Anyone that knew Kyle knows that his biggest passion was music. At age 4, he was imitating Mick Jagger and dancing to rock videos. He got his first guitar when he was 9 years old (he had toy guitars prior to that) and could play as if he had years of experience. Between the ages of 11-13, he was the lead guitarist of an all-kid AC/DC tribute band called High Voltage. Often dressed as Angus Young, Kyle would infatuate the audience with his raw talent and captivating stage presence. High Voltage was even recognized by AC/DC themselves, and received a vinyl album signed by all the band members.Throughout his life, Kyle played in multiple bands and eventually started writing and performing his own songs, most of which showcased his ability to play the blues. He also learned how to play other instruments, such as the piano and drums. He could rock a song on the guitar by AC/DC one minute, then play Beethoven on the piano the next. More recently, Kyle helped form the bands the Whiskey Bums. and EON, for which he was the lead guitarist and singer. Kyle always knew how to put on a show, and everyone that saw him play was in awe of his ability. He was a true musician - a guitarist, a vocalist, a pianist, a drummer, and an incredible lyricist/p t. His artistry was so sincere, raw, and full of true soul, and this shone through at every performance. He was a true rock star.Kyle also had a heart of gold, hugging and thanking his mom for every meal, and even insisting on helping a homeless man at 1:00 am during a late night run to a convenience store. He had an eloquent, intelligent, p tic, calming, and philosophical way of speaking to people. He made his family laugh with his quirky silly ways, his big full smile, and his random funny faces.Kyle will be deeply missed by his parents, sister, family, friends, and anyone who knew him. Kyle will be loved eternally and we take comfort in picturing him playing to a sold out crowd in the Heavens!
