Larry Ray Dirks

Larry was born January 7, 1961 in Longmont, Colorado to Raymond A. and Jane (Becker) Dirks. He graduated from Longmont High School in 1979, where he was an active member of the Longmont High School band and the Rhythmaires. In his younger years he also been a member of 4-H. Following high school he went on to attend Colorado State University.

Larry worked for the City of Denver for the past 30 years, in their water department. He had risen through the ranks, where he was currently the Water Resource Engineer. He enjoyed competitive bike riding and running, having competed in a number biathlons and triathlons. Survivors include his parents Ray and Jane Dirks of Longmont, his extended family aunts and uncle; Thomas Becker, Sue Spurr, Sally Dirks, Dolores (Lewis) Myers, and numerous cousins. He is further survived by Porter, the wonder dog.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 17 from 10:30 a.m. to service time. Services will be at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, May 17, 2014 at Life Bridge Christian Church, Longmont, CO.
