

Larry Don Nordick, 83 of Longmont, passed away April 29, 2019. Larry was born October 25, 1935 in Haswell, CO to Vernon and Nora (Briley) Nordick. He grew up in Eads, CO and moved to Arroyo Ranch until age 15 when his family moved to Limon, CO where they owned an A&W Diner.Larry graduated from Limon High School in 1953 where he excelled in all sports. Shortly after graduation in 1955, he joined the United States Navy. Larry proudly served the next four years working on a submarine. On June 27, 1955 he married Joyce Fairchild in Raton, NM and they lived in San Diego, CA where Larry was stationed. After his honorable discharge, Larry and Joyce moved to Limon, CO where he owned and operated a service station until 1963. From 1963-2015 they primarily lived and raised their family in Fort Collins, CO. Larry worked in construction for many years. He co-owned DDL Concrete and then later established his own company, Viking Concrete. In 1995, he started building churches and went on to remodel hospitals and build hotels throughout Wyoming, Colorado, Texas and Arizona.Larry enjoyed hunting, fishing and golfing. He was a talented gardener and was known for his annual Zinnias. He was also an avid Broncos and Rockies fan.Larry is preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Vernon Sonny Nordick and sister-in-law, Evelyn Nordick. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Joyce Nordick and their children, Larry Douglas Doug Nordick and Jana (Kevin) Sunberg of Longmont, three grandchildren; Michaela (Michael) Achterhof, Ryan (Renee) Sunberg and Molly Sunberg, two great-grandchildren; Jeremiah and Liam Sunberg, and two brothers, Willard (Jean) Nordick of Limon and Gary (Sharon) Nordic of Fort Collins.Memorial service will be held 10:30 a.m., Thursday, May 16 at Calvary Church in Longmont. A private inurnment will take place at Fort Logan National Cemetery.Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association at act.alz.org/donate
