

Born on June 23, 1935, in Detroit to Arthur and Evelyn Melder, Laura graduated from Mumford High School and later earned her nursing degree from Henry Ford Community College. She devoted her life to caring for others as a registered nurse, taking great pride in her profession and remaining dedicated to her patients and colleagues throughout her long career. Even after her retirement in 2010, Laura continued to share her compassion and expertise, always ready to lend support or guidance to those in need.
Laura moved from Detroit to the Longmont area in 2013, where she enjoyed her later years surrounded by family and the beauty of Colorado. She was known for her love of dancing and her lifelong passion for music—especially the soulful sounds of Motown that reminded her of home.
Laura is survived by her children, Nathan Kling, Larry Kling, and Adena Kling; her grandchildren, Danielle Kling, Kayla Kling Stein, and Matthew Kling; and her great-grandchild, Brooks Stein. She is also survived by her brother, Sanford Melder. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Evelyn Melder.
Laura’s kindness, energy, and warmth will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
