

Lawrence (Bruin) Frank Hirschfeld of Berthoud, wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend to many, passed away on September 3, 2016 with his dear wife and family at his side.
Born in Sedgewick, Colorado on September 18, 1937, Lawrence grew up in the Platteville, Lyons, and Longmont areas. He went to school in Lyons and pursued his career in the Front Range area. He started Hirschfeld Backhoe & Pipeline, Inc. in 1972 and ran it with his sons Douglas, Larry and David. He had a very successful business and was loyal and generous to all employees that worked for him.
Lawrence enjoyed vacationing in Las Vegas and Laughlin. He also had many wonderful years with friends and family at Cheyenne Frontier Days. He enjoyed being outside, and raised cattle for many years.
Family and friends were very important to Lawrence and he worked very hard to do a good job for them, giving without question whenever anyone was in need.
Lawrence is survived by his devoted and loving wife Gwen, sons Douglas (Sandy) of Longmont, Larry (Rhonda) of Lyons, and David (Terri) of Lyons, step children Corey (Joelle) Brodersen of Mead, and Brandi (David) Touchberry of Frederick, sisters Pauline (Melvin, deceased) Osmus of Thornton, Anna (Bob, deceased) McGuire of Lyons, and Virginia (Bob) Lafollette of Longmont, Sisters-in-law Shirley, Judy, and Marie Hirschfeld, and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Lawrence was preceded in death by his parents Gottlieb and Pauline Hirschfeld, and brothers Joe, Paul, Ed and Rich Hirschfeld.
A private graveside memorial service will be held at Foothills Gardens of Memory,
