
Larry Lang of Arvada passed away peacefully on September 23, 2013 at his mountain cabin in Eagle County, Colorado. He was 70 years old.Larry was born January 4, 1943 in Longmont, Colorado to William Louis and Mary Ella (Cohagan) Lang. He attended St. John's Catholic School and graduated from Longmont High School in 1961. Upon graduation he entered Colorado State University and graduated in 1965 with a degree in Accounting.In 1964, Larry married Marcia Marie Gildner who also graduated from Longmont High School and Colorado State University.After college graduation, Larry started his career as a Certified Public Accountant with an International Accounting Firm located in Denver. Later in his career, he started his own accounting practice and continued to work until his death.Larry was of the Catholic faith, a member of the Elks Club, University Club of Denver, Riverside Hunting Club and a member of the Colorado Society of Certified Public Accountants. He was also the President of the Kaiser Foundation, which provides college scholarships to students from the State of Wyoming.He was an avid hunter, outdoorsman and an excellent pool player. People knew him as a serious, but fun loving man that had a great sense of humor. He loved spending time with his wife, family and friends. He enjoyed a career that offered him many freedoms throughout life.He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Bob and Bill Lang.Larry is survived by his wife Marcia of Arvada; his son Larry and wife Kate of Denver; his daughter Karen Lang of Cheyenne; two granddaughters Kayleigh and Kristina Lang; and his sister Irene Adler.A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM Friday October 4, 2013 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Longmont, Colorado. A reception will follow at the Longmont Elks Club. Inurnment will be held at 2:00 PM Friday October 11, 2013 at Mountain View Cemetery in Longmont. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be sent to the family for the Lawrence Lang Memorial Fund, which will be used to assist with Longmont Flood relief.
