

He lived in Hong Kong and China, and immigrated to the United States in 1949.
He was a proud member of the Freeport High School Class of 1960 in Freeport, Il (home of the Fighting Pretzels), where he was 3-year varsity athlete in Swimming and was known to be able to fix anything electronic (which continued throughout his life). He received both his Bachelor of Science in Physics and his Master of Science in Physics from the University of Illinois.
He moved to Boulder in 1981. He married Laurie Hulton on September 10, 1994, on the shores of Manchester Lake in Gilpin County, Colorado.
Leroy, a licensed Professional Engineer, P.E., owned Moy & Associates, an electronics repair company. He fixed scientific, medical, and chemical equipment for private companies and government agencies. He was also a co-founder of Colorado Trout Group.
He was a proud supporter of the ACLU, Doctors Without Borders, Boulder’s Homeless Shelter, and many other non-profit organizations. He was also a passionate University of Illinois alum and traveled to homecoming almost every year since graduating.
He was an avid and talented angler and was a proud winner of the weekly Denver Post/Dave Cook Big Trout Contest (Colorado’s Oldest, Most Popular Fishing Contest).
Leroy is survived by his wife, Laurie Moy of Boulder, Colorado, two stepdaughters, Brooke Keith (Amy Todd) of Denver, Colorado and Erin Fahres (Tom Fahres) of Denver, Colorado, two grandchildren, Jayden Fahres of Gilbert, Arizona and Kai Fahres of Denver, Colorado, sister-in-law, Sandy Moy of Seattle, Washington, two devoted collies, Danidh and Rio, and many, many friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Manchester Lake in Gilpin County, Colorado this fall. Details to follow.
