Lexie T. Ramsey

Lexie T. Ramsey of Firestone, CO, formerly of Kimball, NE, died November 7, 2011 at Longmont United Hospital. He was 85 years old. Lexie was born on January 10, 1926 in Cave City, Arkansas, the son of Grady and Gertha (Fields) Ramsey. Lexie honorably served in the U.S. Army from 1948 until his discharge in 1952.He married Beverly Shaw on September 5, 1953 in Dix, Nebraska. They moved to Colorado in 1967.Lexie worked for CU and retired in 1976.Lexie was a member of Rinn United Methodist Church and the Disabled American Veterans. He enjoyed his family, fishing, rock collecting and gardening.He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers and one sister.Lexie is survived by his wife, Beverly Ramsey of Firestone, CO; a son, Michael Ramsey (Kathy) of Frederick, CO; his daughters, Melody Kretzschmar (William) of Thornton, CO and Melia Thomas (James) of Firestone, CO; his grandchildren, Jeremy Thomas (Jessica), Aaron Thomas, Denis Thornton (Amanda), Misty Mays (Robert), Herbert Ramsey, Alexis Suden (Michael), Bryce Ramsey and Sarah Ramsey and 13 great-grandchildren.A visitation will be held from 5:00 “ 7:00 PM on Thursday, November 10, 2011 at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, November 11, 2011 at Rinn United Methodist Church, 3783 Bella Rosa Parkway (formerly WCR 20) in Frederick, CO. Interment at Longmont Mountain View Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to Rinn United Methodist Church or the American Lung Association and mailed to Ahlberg Funeral Chapel.
