Liberta (DiSalle) Hattel was born October 2nd, 1941, and entered peacefully into rest on December 4th, 2023. She was born to Willie and Gaetana (DiPaolo) DiSalle in Frederick Colorado, and she lived her entire life in Frederick.
Liberta was a cheerleader and baton twirler in high school, and she met the love of her life, Michael Hattel while in high school; Liberta and Mike were married in 1960. In July 2023 Liberta and Mike celebrated their 63rd anniversary. Liberta worked for the St. Vrain Valley School District as the media clerk for over 35 years. She served on the Town Board of Frederick and was an active member of the Frederick Arts Committee. Liberta was instrumental in creating the Miner’s Memorial Wall and Yearly Celebration. She will be mostly remembered for her amazing cooking and baking skills and sharing her love of food with everyone.
Liberta is survived by her loving husband Mike, and their three sons Michael (Christy) Hattel, Steven Hattel, and William (Ken Hopping) Hattel, and her 5 grandchildren Michael Hattel, James (Lauren) Hattel, Ryan (Gabby) Hattel, Alexis (Jordan) Martinez, Steven Hattel, Jacob (MacKenzie) Hopping, Nathanial (Ashley) Hopping, and her great-granddaughter Ivy Hattel, her brother Dan (Barbara) DiSalle and their children. Liberta is also survived by one aunt, Viola (Don) Miller and their children.
Liberta’s love of her family and her friends is known to have had no limits; she will be remembered by all who have had the privilege of knowing her, for unlimited generosity and unconditional love.
Memorial contributions may be made to the building fund of the St. Theresa’s Catholic Church in Frederick Colorado.
A rosary for Liberta will be held Wednesday, December 13, 2023 at 7:00 PM at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 5503 Bella Rosa Parkway, Frederick, Colorado 80504. A mass of Christian burial will occur Thursday, December 14, 2023 at 10:00 AM, at St. Theresa Catholic Church. A reception will follow at 11:00 AM. A graveside committal will occur at 2:00 PM at Longmont Mountain View Cemetery, 620 11th Avenue, Longmont, Colorado 80501.
