Linda Gabriello Rowland

Linda Gabrielle Marguerite Rowland, of Longmont, passed away January 18, 2019. Linda was born November 20, 1942 in Philadelphia, PA to Anthony and Valentina (DeStephanis) Rizzo. She graduated from Chestnut Hill College with a BA in English. On September 30, 1972 she married Alvin Rowland in Philadelphia. They had one son, Christopher. Throughout her life in Philadelphia, Linda worked as a social worker for the state of Pennsylvania, and was a devoted mother. She maintained a home where everyone felt welcome... including all family members and all neighbors. All who visited her home were put at ease. She lovingly cared for her family and friends when they were ill. In 2012, Linda and Alvin moved to Longmont, CO to be closer to their family. She attended St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Longmont, enjoyed gardening and reading¦ and above all she enjoyed being a grandmother. She brought much love and joy with her. She is remembered as a wonderful mother and grandmother, and by the many people whose lives she touched- She was among the most caring, gentlest, loving people I have ever known (CG) Wherever there were children, there was Linda (AR). She is preceded in death by her parents and is survived by her husband (Alvin), son (Chris), daughter-in-law (Lisa) and four grandchildren: Lucy, Julia, Margaret and Joseph, and many beloved cousins and friends. Mass of the Christian burial will be Friday, January 25 at 10:30 a.m. with a viewing one hour prior at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 323 Collyer St. Longmont, CO 80501, with interment to follow at Foothills Gardens of Memory cemetery.
