Lloyd Reed

Lloyd was born on February 9, 1920 in Ravenwood, Missouri to Charley Howard and Opal Mae (Rogers) Reed. On October 17, 1949 he married Lillian F. (Ramsey) Bear in Brewster, Kansas. Mr. Reed served in the United States Air Force for 21 years, retiring in 1962 as a Master Sergeant. They moved to Longmont in 1992 from Fort Mojave, AZ.

Mr. Reed was proud to have served his country during WWII and beyond. He was a Mason, 3rd Degree and also a member on the VFW.

He is survived be his wife Lillian Reed, Longmont, CO sons Charles (Judith) Bear, Glenwood Springs, CO and Glenn Bear, Meredith, CO his daughters Deanna (Richard) Blumberg, Hoquiam, WA. and Linda (Lee) Phipps, Oak Creek, WI. Further survivors include 8 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren.

Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Dale Reed, Curt Reed, Orville Dean Reed and his sisters Dorothy Breemer, Helen Phillips and Rita Henry. His grandson Lance Bloomberg also preceded him in death in 1974.

A visitation is scheduled for today, Thursday October 21, 2010 from 4-7 p.m. at the Howe Mortuary. Graveside services and inurnment will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 22, 2010 at Fort Logan National Cemetery, Staging Area “A”, Denver, CO.

Masonic Rites will be given and the United States Air Force Honor Guard will provide Military Honors.
