Loren Llewellyn Reinema

Loren Llewellyn Reinema, 60, of Boulder, Colorado, passed away at his home on September 16, 2008.Loren was born November 19, 1947, in Rockford, Illinois to Vincent Charles and Genese Elizabeth (Oakes) Reinema. He grew up in Chana, Illinois and graduated from Oregon High School in 1965. He went on to earn a degree in Business Management from the University of North Texas. He served in the United States Air Force from 1972 until his honorable discharge in 1981. As an Air Force pilot, he received training on several types of aircraft including the KC-135, which was used for in-flight refueling.In 1969, Loren married Susan Gayle Genkinger in Oregon, Illinois. To that union were born sons, Eric Charles Reinema, now of Centennial, Colorado and Josh Christopher Reinema of Boulder. The couple later divorced. In 1993, Loren married Celeste Adrienne Garcia in Boulder and they had twins, Ross Oakes and Reece Martin Reinema, now of Rocky River, Ohio.He was preceded in death by his parents, and by a brother, Larry Reinema.Mr. Reinema had worked for over 25 years with Continental and other airlines as a commercial pilot, retiring as a captain late last year.Loren will be remembered for his kind and gentle manner, passion for knowledge, and love of animals, especially his dog, Chula.A celebration of Loren's life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 23, 2008, in the Grand Assembly Hall at Chautauqua in Boulder, 900 Baseline Road.
