
Lorena Anna Miller, 94, of Longmont died June 25, 2012 at her residence.She was born November 2, 1917 in Mound Valley, Kansas, to George and Anna (Johns) Banowetz on the family farm. As a young lady, she enjoyed driving the tractors on the family farm. She graduated from Altamont, Kansas High School in 1935 and Parson Business School. After graduation she worked as a dental assistant in Parson, Kansas for several years, but went back to Mound Valley to care for her mother.Lorena married Harold M. Miller on April 16, 1947 in Coffeyville, Kansas and moved to Longmont, Colorado in 1947. They had a daughter and a son.In the 1960's Harold and Lorena started Longmont Florist. She primarily did the bookkeeping but filled in with other aspects of the floral business as needed. She also owned Miller's Flowers with her husband and son until her retirement in 1978.She enjoyed cooking and sewing for her family. She did beautiful embroidery and needlepoint; which is enjoyed by her family in their homes. She took pride in all she did for her family.She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and one brother Frank Banowetz.Lorena is survived by daughter Anna C. Miller and son Harold M. Miller, Jr. both of Longmont, one sister Frances Harding of Coffeyville, KS, and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial service will be held 10:00am Friday June 29, 2012 at Light of Christ Ecumenical Catholic Church. Memorial contributions to HospiceCare of Boulder and Bromfield Counties can be sent in care of Ahlberg Funeral Chapel. Cremation at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel and Crematory.
