Lynn Louise Slipka

Lynn was born on December 13th, 1938, in Eau Claire, Wisconsin to Carl and Gladys Lueck. She was born into a small family with one sister, Marylane (Whalen).

She married the love of her life Wayne D. Slipka on January 21, 1961, in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. Their family moved to Colorado in 1965 when Wayne accepted a position with IBM. Together they raised 4 beautiful children. While raising their children she was more than a homemaker. She was a home executive, a chauffeur, a chef, a financial auditor, a professor, and a professional Racko player.

Everyone described her as a spitfire who disliked squirrels but always greatly appreciated a Screwdriver. She was always up for a challenging game of Racko and though her prowess at playing Mille Bornes was unmatched, we all knew we could at least beat her at a game of Chinese checkers!

While she always enjoyed a game. She did many different things for many different people. However, that didn’t stop her from enjoying a wonderfully good joke with an infectious laugh to follow.

Her family trusts that she met Wayne’s open arms when she arrived. Together they are doing the jitterbug in the only way they knew how, with Wayne shuffling his feet and Lynn doing all the turning. Their family misses them a great deal.

Lynn is preceded in her passing by the love of her life Wayne D. Slipka who passed on December 24, 1995; and her parents Carl and Gladys Leuck who passed on December 17, 1994, and October 22, 1991, respectively.

Lynn is survived by her 4 children Steve (Nancy) Slipka, Teresa Slipka, Darrel (Ruby) Slipka and Kelly (Stephen) Groscost. In addition, she leaves behind 6 grandchildren Cassidy (Mark) Kimball, Lucas (Randi) Slipka, Alyssa De LaRosa, Ryan Slipka, Macy Slipka & Katelynn Groscost, along with numerous great grandchildren.

The family would like to thank Kathy Brown and Tony Trujillo for their constant care and faithful friendship for Lynn. In addition, a deep and sincere appreciation for the compassionate care she received from Katrina and the staff at AccentCare Hospice.
