Mardelle Elizabeth Harvey

Mardelle Elizabeth ""Mardi"" Harvey, of Longmont, died Monday, February 25, 2008 at Longmont United Hospital. She was 77 years old.Mardi was born February 23, 1931 in Denver, Colorado, to Magnus and Astrid (Martenson) Andersen. After graduating from South High School in Denver, she married Melvin Flachman in 1951. Upon his death, she moved her family to Longmont in 1970. On October 6, 1993, she married Jack Harvey in Longmont.Mrs. Harvey had worked for Loretta Heights College in Denver for several years, and later as a cook for the St. Vrain Valley School District. Most recently, she had been a supervisor in janitorial services, sub- contracting with IBM and later Ball Aerospace.She enjoyed fishing, hunting, bowling and crafts, but mostly spending time with her family.Survivors include her husband, Jack Harvey of Longmont; two sons, Doug (Sharon) Flachman of Longmont, and Jerry (Fran) Flachman of Julesburg; a daughter, Christi (Jim) Nemec of Longmont; a brother, Paul Andersen of Wheatridge; a sister, Marie Williamson of Amarillo, Texas; 10 grandchildren; and 21 great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Donald Flachman; and a son-in-law, Bret Seader.Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Howe Mortuary and Cremation Services, Longmont.
