Margaret Elizabeth Hill, age 94, of Longmont, Colorado, passed away Monday, August 24, 2026, at her residence. Mrs. Hill was born October 01, 1931, in Denver, Colorado, to Williard and Mildred Clark. A lifelong resident of Colorado, she graduated from North High in 1949 and married Jack Hill on October 10, 1954.
From her beginnings as a city girl in Denver, Margaret’s life became rooted in the steady rhythms of farm and family as she and Jack settled in Longmont. Together they raised dairy cows and farmed corn and alfalfa, building a life shaped by diligence, devotion, and the quiet strength found in daily work well done.
While helping to operate the farm, Mrs. Hill also held positions in town with various businesses, valued for her neat handwriting and her careful, exact calculating of income and expense. In all she did, she carried herself with a consistent sense of responsibility and consideration for others.
Margaret’s hobbies reflected the warmth she brought to those around her: baking and cooking for family meals that mattered deeply to her, sewing, spending time with family, and assisting the children with their 4 H projects. Later in life her hobby became card making for family and friend's birthdays and Christmas. She was a devoted member of the Longmont Seventh Day Adventist Church.
She will be remembered as a respectful daughter, a connected sister, a loving wife, a thoughtful mother, and a caring grandmother.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, Willard and Mildred Clark; her husband of forty-two years, Jack Hill; and her sister, Marlene Wood and husband, Dal.
She is survived by three children: Daughter: Melissa Mekelburg and husband, Arlen of Dix, Nebraska; son Kevin Hill of Platteville, Colorado; and daughter, Melinda Dart and husband Don of Grand Lake, Colorado and Mesa, Arizona. Surviving family members also include six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Other survivors include sister-in-law, Doris Nashland, of North Carolina.
