

Margaret M. Porter, 90, of Longmont, formerly of Louisville, CO. died November 10, 2013 at Applewood Living Center. She was born in Akron, Colorado on November 25, 1922 to Estina (Bradley) and Clive Leon Dove. She was married to Johnnie Porter who preceded her in death in 1994.
Margaret’s working career included being the Postmaster in Nederland, CO. She was an active member of the Methodist Church where she was an integral part of establishing and opening the cafeteria and participating in the Community Food Share service that was provided. She enjoyed walking through Memory Square Park in Louisville, crocheting and helping people in any way she could. She lived at Applewood Living Center for a number of years and will be remembered for her upbeat attitude and pleasant ways.
Preceding her in death are her brother Eugene Dove and her sisters Dorothy Wiley and Flora Brandell. She is survived by nephews and nieces Vern Porter of Ecuador, John Wiley and Tom Wiley of Arizona, John (Jerri) Porter of Longmont and Norma Jean Porter of Centennial, CO.
A Celebration of Margaret’s rich life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 16 at Applewood Living Center, 1800 Stroh Pl. Longmont, CO.
