Margaret Elizabeth Motes

Margaret Elizabeth (Abbott) Motes passed away Sunday, June 3, 2007 in Longmont. Margaret married Orville Abbott June 14, 1937. They had four children, Chuck Abbott, whom passed away September 20, 2005, Jim (Judy) of Broomfield, Don (Karen) of Denver, and Janie (Bill) of Sacramento, CA. She is survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Margaret is further survived by stepchildren, Bill (Caroline) Motes of Virginia, and Barbara Motes of Boulder.Margaret and Orville lived in Boulder for many years and had regular square dances at Abbott?s Barn in Boulder. They were also a popular couple at various statewide square dances. Orville passed away May 14, 1962. Margaret was married to Marvin Motes from 1966 until his passing in 1993. Margaret has been a resident of Longmont for many years. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Her favorite hobby was playing bridge with several groups in the area.Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Friday, June 8, 2007 at Howe Mortuary, Longmont. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 9, 2007 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.
