Marion Wallace Crisfield of Boulder died Saturday, June 25, 2016 at her home in Boulder. She was 96.
Marion was born June18, 1920, in Harrisburg, Pa., to William and Ruth McMeen Wallace.
Her early years were spent on the family farm in Juniata County, Pa. Following the death of her father, the family moved to Pittsburgh, Pa., where she graduated from Peabody High School.
Marion attended college at Carnegie Tech and briefly worked at the Mellon Bank before becoming one of the first flight attendants for Pennsylvania Central Airlines.
Marion met Alfred Crisfield and was married on April 19, 1941, in Pittsburgh. They were happily married for 62 years and raised four children.
Soon after her husband’s retirement, Marion moved to Boulder, Colorado in 1973. She enjoyed antique history, reading, the Sunday New York Times Crossword Puzzle, hiking, and spending time with family and friends. She was a member of St. Mary Magdalene Episcopal Church.
Marion is survived by two daughters, Janet C. Koehler and her husband Clifton of Ponte Vedra Beach, Fl., and Marion N. Crisfield and her husband Thomas O’Brien of Vienna, Va.; two sons, John W. Crisfield and his wife Ruth of Boulder, and James ‘Cris’ Crisfield of Longmont. Further surviving are 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband in 2003.
A celebration of Marion’s life will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 9, at Rocky Mountain Christian Church, 9447 Niwot Rd., Niwot.
