

Mark Alan Embree, 50, of Berthoud, passed away Saturday, September 22, 2007 at McKee Medical Center in Loveland.Mark was born on May 27, 1957 in Longmont to Loren and Dorlene (Nickel) Embree. He grew up in the Longmont area, graduating from Longmont High School and Boulder Vo-Tech in 1975. He later attended Tri-County Technical School in Clemson, South Carolina.In 1990, Mark moved to Anderson, South Carolina where he met and married Nanette Lathrop. Together they had two children, Lauren and Riley. Mark and his children returned to Colorado in 2001 and have resided in Berthoud since that time.He was a welder by trade and a talented artist. He most enjoyed the time he spent watching his children in their various sports. Mark had competed on many men?s softball teams in his earlier years and was pleased to have his children follow his love of sports. He was also an avid NASCAR and Bronco fan.Mark is survived by his children, Lauren and Riley Embree of Berthoud; his mother, Dorlene Embree and her husband, Jerry Couch, of Kansas City, Missouri; his father, Loren Embree and his wife, Francis, of Anderson, South Carolina; one sister, Niki Weitzel and her husband, Jerry, of Berthoud; his grandmother, Dorothy Rubick and her husband, Kenny, of Longmont; and two nieces, Keren and Sonja Weitzel.Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Howe Mortuary, Longmont.
