

Marshall was born July 28, 1949 in Fort Dodge, Iowa to Charles and Dorothy Bickford. He is survived by his wife Barbara of 24 years, sister Mary Ann DeYoung, her husband Bob of Maplewood,MN and his brother Bill Bickford, his wife Joyce of Cedar Rapids, IA. Children Kimberly Bishop and husband Garrett of Thornton, CO; Michelle Bickford of Denver, CO; Christy Middleton and husband Jeff of Pueblo, CO; and Scott Shoemaker and wife Tara of Virginia Beach, VA; and 11 grandchildren-Shelby, Jacob, Jordan, Garet, Madison, Alex, Darian, Macey, Abbey, Brooke and Seth.
Marshall always excelled in sports and lettered in football, wrestling and track in high school. He attended Mankato State College in Mankato, MN on a football scholarship where he was a 4 year starter. After graduating in 1992 with a BS in Education, Marshall moved to Minneapolis and worked in a Hardware store. He moved to Longmont, CO in 1979 where he immediately started working for a beer distributor. Marshall also worked as a Truck Driver hauling gravel and sand for Golden’s, C & M Trucking, Clear Creek Trucking and Calabrese Trucking where he retired from in 2012 when he was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma,
Marshall was a member of the Longmont Moose Lodge 1548 since 1987. He was an active member of the Lodge serving Governor of the Lodge in 1992-1993. He received his Fellowship Degree in 1993 and Pilgrim Degree in 2002, Marshall also served on the Longmont Ritual Staff as Governor and competed at International Competitions consecutively since 1995 placing top three, three times. Marshall was also on the Pikes Peak Moose Legion Ritual Team as Chaplain, that was International Champions for three years until the last year where they placed second.
Marshall was a very loving husband and father and will be greatly missed.
Cremation has been entrusted to Howe Mortuary and Cremation Services. A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at the Longmont Moose Lodge. In lieu of flowers, please remember Marshall with a contribution to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
