Martha Ofelia Martinez

Martha O. Martinez, 79, of Longmont, died January 1, 2009, at Life Care Center.Martha was born January 19, 1929 in El Paso, Texas to Evaristo and Juanita (Olivarez) Najera. On September 27, 1947, she married Liserdo R. ""LeeRoy"" Martinez.Martha enjoyed traveling, knitting and needlework. She was an excellent cook. She worked at IBM and other retail businesses in Longmont. She also enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.She is survived by two sons, Ted (Lynn) Martinez, and Steve Martinez; two daughters, Deborah (Douglas) Lempka-Sandersen, and Christine Martinez; two brothers, Tony (Georgia) Najera, and Casey Najera; three sisters, Lorenza McInvale, Virginia (Tomas) Alvarez, and Juantia Van Leire. She is further survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.She was preceded in death by her husband, LeeRoy Martinez; two children, Bruno and Martin; her parents; and a brother, Evaristo Jr. ""Lolly"".Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Howe Mortuary and Cremation Services, Longmont. A rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 7, 2009 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Adoration Chapel. Please use the south entrance. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, January 8 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.In lieu of flowers, friends may donate to the St. Vrain Valley School District, Niwot High School Special Education Department, 395 S.
