

Martin Joseph Miller, 81, of Longmont, Colorado lost his battle with cancer and lung disease while surrounded by loved ones on September 20, 2015. He was born July 16, 1934 to Joseph and Mary Miller in Erie, Colorado. Martin had several nicknames, growing up in Erie he was called “Bubby” by his father and “Bronco” by his friends. After meeting Leona Parker at the roller rink in 1953 he was known as “Marty”. Marty and Leona were married in 1954 in Raton, NM. After living in Denver for a year, they moved to Longmont and started their family. A devoted husband, doting father, and playful grandpa, family was his world. Marty hauled milk from the age of 19 and never had an accident in his 43 year career behind the wheel. Martin went back to school and earned his GED after retiring, setting an example of the importance of education.
Marty is survived by his wife Leona, his daughters Joanie Anderson (Dave) of Windsor, Christi Dreher (Dave) of Berthoud and Barb Miller of Berthoud, grandchildren Paul (Philip) of Denver, Nathan (Steph) of Loveland, Bradly of Longmont, Michael (Ashley) of Longmont, Antoinette of Boulder, Caitlin of Boulder, Parker of Loveland and Everett of Berthoud, and sister Dorothy Whipkey of Aurora. He is preceded in death by his parents and son Michael.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Sunday, September 27 at the Howe Mortuary Chapel followed by a Vigil service at 7:00 pm. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, September 28, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Longmont. Burial will follow at Green Mountain Cemetery in Boulder, CO.
