He was born on May 28 1924 in Morrill Kansas to Marvin and Norine Barker. They moved to Boulder where he attended Casey Jr. High and graduated from Boulder High.
He joined the Navy on October 4, 1943 where he served as a Pharmacist Mate on the USS Blackhawk. He was honorably discharged on April 26 1946 at the rank of Pharmacist Mate 2nd class.
Jerry married Mary Pauline Longenecker (Polly) on November 25 1949. They were married for 62 years, until she passed in 2012 .
He is survived by three children, Gael, Rick (married to Lynn) & Deb, five grandchildren, three great grandchildren and his beloved friend Mary Frances.
Jerry loved fishing and gardening. His career as a Journeyman Electrician was satisfying and successful.
Services will be held on May 29 2018 at Westview Presbyterian church, 1500 Hover Road, Longmont CO, 80501 at 2:00 PM.
