Mary Charlene Bernal

Mary Charlene Bernal passed away June 4, 2015 at Longmont United Hospital. She was 69 years old.Mary was born on February 25, 1946 to Dan and Antonia (Torres) Romero in Trinidad, Colorado. She was lovingly raised by her mom and step-dad Jack Gauna.She married Franklin Bernal in Westminster, CO in 1972. They lived in Longmont, CO until 1990 when they moved to Thornton, CO and then together they moved back to Longmont in 2000. Mary worked as a waitress at the Downtown Diner and 4-B's restaurant. She was of the Catholic faith. Mary was a loving mother and worked hard raising her children. She was passionate about her gardens and loved tending her flowers.Mary was preceded in death by her husband Franklin.She is survived by her children Robert E. Bernal, Joseph R. Bernal, Zachary S. Bernal, Kim C. Vasquez, and Denise Bernal; her grandchildren Chrystal Vasquez, Ryan Vasquez, Shawn Vasquez, Matthew Weiss, and Seth Weiss; and five brothers and sisters Frances Romero Gallegos, Max Crespin, Mary Leela Orozco, Ron Isidoro Gauna, Paul Romero and Orlando Romero.A visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 PM Saturday June 6, 2015 at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel with Rosary prayers following at 7:00 PM. Cremation will follow the Rosary at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel and Crematory. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday June 7, 2015 at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel.
