Mary proudly served in the United States Army from August 1963 until November 1963, receiving an honorable discharge. Though her time in uniform was brief, she carried a deep respect for service and a strong sense of patriotism throughout her life.
Mary was first married to Louis Taft Copple, and they made their home in Fromberg, MT until his passing in 1983. She later married her childhood friend, Glen Bolster, on May 19, 1993, and together they made their home in Erie, Colorado.
Full of life and with a love for color in all its forms, Mary was a talented artist who expressed herself through drawing and creating paper dolls. Her art was as vibrant as her personality—bright, warm, and full of joy. She and Glen shared a passion for cars, not only attending car shows together but also racing their beloved Thunderbirds, adding a spark of adrenaline to their shared adventures.
She is survived by her husband, Glen; sons, John (Lucy) Copple and Kristopher (Maria) Copple; grandchildren, Tim (Red Lodge, MT, with son Kaden), Katelyn (Roberts, MT, married to Zane Hagen, with son Kalvin), Kieran, Megan, Talyn, Anthony (USN, married to Sasha, with sons Lukas and Caspian), Kristopher Jr. (Germany), and Jeremy (California).
A gifted artist, Mary found joy and peace in bringing beauty to the world, whether through the fine detail of a sketch, the delicate craftsmanship of a paper doll, or the colorful way she approached life. She will be remembered for her warmth, her boundless creativity, and her ability to find beauty in the smallest details.
Mary’s life was a tapestry of family, art, service, and love. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of her husband, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
A private family service will be held to honor Mary’s life. Flowers can be sent to the address of the mortuary and the family asks that you celebrate her memory by creating something beautiful, as she so often did.
