LUJAN, Mary O. Lujan, of Longmont, passed away at her home on July 11, 2019. She was 87 years old. Mary was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on February 8, 1932 to Leon and Artes (Vasquez) Zuniga. Almost immediately after she was born, Mary’s family continued to travel west ending their journey in Longmont, Colorado.The family homesteaded in Boulder County and began farming the land.
On June 12, 1948, Mary married the love of her life, Nacor Lujan. They were blessed with four children, Nacor, Jr., James, Tim and Linda. Throughout Mary’s life, she was employed in various vocations. She and Nacor had a tree trimming business where Mary did the secretarial work. Later in life, she drove a bus for RTD. Nacor taught Mary how to cook and together they enjoyed cooking together for many, many years. Together with their family, they enjoyed fishing, camping and hunting. Mary also had a garden where among other types of vegetables she grew chilis and tomatoes. Another hobby of Mary’s was watching Gunsmoke and Matlock on television. Her favorite, however, was watching Columbo every Sunday night.
Mary is survived by her children, Nacor (Jeannette) Lujan, Jr., James (Holly) Lujan, Tim Lujan and Linda Lopez; grandchildren, Trinity Lujan Beckett, Albino (Christina) Lujan-Hernandez, Nickolas Lujan, Antonio Lujan, Jeremy (Sierra) Lujan, JB Lujan, Maryann Lujan, Jamie Lujan and Nichole Lujan; great grandchildren, Tyleen (Larry) Thompson and family, Zoey Lujan, Allie Lujan, Caleb Lujan and many others.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Leon and Artes Zuniga and her husband, Nacor.
A private visitation will be held at Howe Mortuary. Mary’s urn will be placed at Mountain View Cemetery in Longmont.
