Mary Madeline Muñoz

She was born July 20, 1933 in Erie, Colorado to Jesus and Delia Acosta. She was married to John Muñoz Sr. who passed away on August 27, 2002. They lived in Erie, Colorado. They had five children.

She is survived by her five children Barbara, John Jr. (Georgia), Deby (Emilio), Jackie and Mitzi (Josh), her twelve grandchildren and twenty two great grandchildren and her sister Ernestine.

She was preceded in her passing by her parents, her four siblings Dave, Sosten, Eva and Richard; and her grandson Ivan.

She will be forever remembered as a very loving and caring woman. Not only to her family but everyone that came to know and love her. She would often converse with everyone (even strangers) and would speak to them in Spanish... even if they did not understand it.

She loved to be surrounded by all of her family and friends who loved her so much. She enjoyed being with family and friends at birthday parties, holiday gatherings and other get-togethers. Her face would light up with the biggest and most beautiful smile.

She loved going to church, playing bingo, card games and going to the casinos. She also loved going to the dances where her husband's band "The Vibrotones" played. One of her favorite places was the VFW where she enjoyed the steak dinners and dancing. She also loved to visit and spend time at the Mother Cabrini Shrine.

Madeline was an amazing woman and will be deeply missed by all who came to know and love her.

A visitation for family & friends will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, October 22, 2026 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church located at 11385 Grant Dr, Northglenn, Colorado, 80233. Rosary Prayers will commence at 10:30 am. Mass of Christian Burial will be held promptly at 11:00 am. A reception will follow the Mass at the Parish Hall.
