Mary Ann Shanklin

Mary Ann Ruth Shanklin, age 74, of Longmont, died Monday, September 15 at Hospice Care Center, Louisville. Mary Ann was born on January 27, 1934, in Hollywood, California. She grew up in Okeene, Oklahoma before moving and attending high school at East High School in Denver, then the University of Colorado, Boulder. Because Mary Ann so loved the Rocky Mountains and Colorado, she returned to the area moving to Longmont from Houston, Texas, in 1985. While in Houston, Mary Ann was affiliated with Ketchum Advertising for a number of years. She worked for Leanin' Tree greeting card company in Boulder for more than 20 years, retiring in early 2008 due to illness. Mary Ann is survived by her sister, Sarah Stern, of Longmont, and her children: Heidi Shanklin-Spock and her husband Karl, of Austin, TX; Heather Shanklin Gosda of Aspen, CO; Jack Shanklin, of Lufkin, TX; Brad Shanklin and his wife Julia, of Plano, TX; grandchildren: Sarah Hawthorne, Jessica Gosda, Lauren Shanklin, Luke Gosda, Jackson Shanklin, Krystin Shanklin, Natalie Shanklin, and Connor Shanklin.A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, September 18 at the Howe Mortuary Chapel, Longmont.
