Maureen was born January 11, 1938 in Missoula, Montana. The oldest child of Leo Elmer Nash and Helen Edna (Courtney) Nash, she grew up in Montana with her sister and three brothers. At the age of 18, she moved to Colorado to take a job in Denver. She met her future husband, Richard, at the boarding house where they both lived. Maureen and Richard married on September 6, 1958, and together had nine children. Maureen was a homemaker, and in her spare time, the office manager for the family roofing business. In 1981, they moved from Denver to Longmont, where Maureen lived for most of the remainder of her life. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Longmont.
Quick with a smile and a tender embrace, she raised her children to always know that she loved them. She had a keen wit, the heart and hands of an artist, and the mind of a poet.
