Maurice Edwin Jones, Jr. of Frederick, Colorado died Wednesday, December 24, 2008 at Balfour Hospice. He was 78. He was born in Livermore, CA, eventually moving to Colorado to be near his grandchildren. Maurice retired from the Air Force in 1968, and was a proud veteran of the Korean and Vietnam wars. He retired from Loral Space & Communications in 1996 as an engineering manager, having contributed to systems in the fields of deep space exploration, satellite communications, defense, and intelligence. Maurice is survived by his wife Celeta of Frederick (married 52 years), and two sons; Maurice (wife Maria) of San Diego, CA and Tim (wife Jill, children Megan, Elise, and Marc) of Longmont. He will be interred at the Riverside National Cemetery in Riverside, CA.
