Max was born on July 15, 1983 in San Antonio, Texas to Lisa Patience Bridge and the late Donald Ulysses Bridge II. Max graduated from Manteo High School in 2001 where he loved his marching band family. He was a gifted trumpeter who attended Berklee College of Music in Boston until 9/11 inspired him to join the United States Marine Corps. Following his overseas service in Okinawa, Japan and honorable discharge, he then moved to Boone NC and became a whitewater rafting and caving guide, worked at the local humane society and finally in the smoking accessory field. The desire to be at the forefront of a new industry led Max to Colorado in 2014 where he worked in agriculture, pharmaceutical and recreational retail of legal cannabis.
It was in Colorado where Max met the best thing that ever happened to him- his wife Tori Young Bridge. Max and Tori were married on a Colorado mountainside in May 2022. Max is survived by his wife Tori of Longmont and her family; his mother Lisa and grandfather Donald Patience of Manteo NC; his sister Alice Bridge Silver, her husband Duncan and his nephews John Sprague and Hinton Silver of Wanchese, NC. He is also survived by his aunts and uncles, Susanna and Richard Turner of Pinehurst, NC and Nancy and Sam Shaw of Boulder, CO and their families. Max also leaves behind many friends and coworkers across the country who will miss his one-liners, obscure knowledge, ukulele skills and his kindness to humans and animals.
He was predeceased by his father, Donald Bridge; his maternal grandmother Geraldine Patience and his paternal grandparents John and Jocelyn Bridge.
A memorial will be held at a later date in Boone, NC.
