McKenna Paige Fowler

November 13, 1998May 21, 2019

McKenna Paige Fowler (McKi/ Kenna/ Pooh Bear/ Babe) passed away tragically and unexpectedly on May 21st, 2019. She is survived by her loving parents Rick and Andrea Fowler, as well as her doting siblings Sean, Jade, and Claire. McKi was a confident and empowered Longmont native who brought constant joy with her cunning wit, dimpled smile, and unsurpassed drink-making skills. She had a daring sense of fashion and unique penchant for smoothies, coloring, and sticker collecting. Despite being the youngest in her family and the youngest in her group of friends, McKi was an influencer to all, with a flare for activism. Lover of animals and unrelenting advocate of human rights, McKenna highly valued her roommates, friends, and family, but also took exemplary care of herself. Never afraid to try new things or experience new people, McKi’s firecracker memory will be carried on by her sisters through traveling, laughing, and hitting up buffets. Although she was taken from the world far too early, McKenna will always be remembered as the best movie buddy, the coolest concert companion, and the cutest girl at the coffee shop. Her family would like to thank every friend, neighbor, and extended family member who has reached out with kindness and support. A service will be held to celebrate McKenna’s from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm on Friday, July 12, 2019 at the Red Rocks Trading Post, 17900 Trading Post Rd, Morrison, CO 80465. In lieu of flowers, contributions in McKenna's memory are requested to Planned Parenthood, MESA (movingtoendsexualassault.org) or Longmont Humane Society

We did not have the privledge to personally get to know McKenna. We know her sweet Mom and sister, Claire. We are not surprise to hear about this amazing young woman..about her creativity, her love of family. We heard that all who passed her path knew her as amazing and caring. We heard she loved life to the fullest. Our hearts have been touched with the sadness of loss experienced by her dear family. Our prayer is that God will heal their broken hearts and replace that void with wonderful memories.
Sending our love..The Cummings Family

I'm so sorry we couldn't make to McKenna memorial. My heart breaks for her family and friends. I have thought about her every day since Derrick told me of her passing. Derrick knew McKenna since elementary school and had the honor of continuing school with her all the way through graduation. I still remember her giggling at his birthday party in 2nd grade. She was always the sunshine in any situation. McKenna will always be missed

I first met Mckenna at Longmont Estates Elementary. We were probably about 4 or 5 years old. It brings back so many memories seeing familiar names pop up on here. We all grew up together and Mckenna was the one who tied us all together. I remember bonding with Mckenna at a young age. We thought that it was hilarious that we were both nicknamed “pooh bear” or “poobs”. We were good friends throughout elementary and middle school. She was one of those rare mature kids and someone I looked up to throughout the years. She listened and put thought into gifts if it was your birthday. I still have the copy of “The Wedding Singer” she got me when I turned 13. She could read people so well. It’s still one of my favorite movies thanks to her. She was so loyal and such a good friend. I don’t think I’ll ever meet anyone like her. Even as kids she seemed so much like an adult, filled with wisdom and kindness. She had the brightest smile and I can still clearly remember how she laughed. I’ll never forget all the laughs in choir or the silly music video we all made. We were all so different, but Mckenna could relate to all of us individually. I will forever cherish the memories we all made.

McKenna and I met in 4th grade, becoming fast friends as we connected over our similar sense of humor, love of glittery stickers, and our older sisters being friends as well. She was always a friend I could rely on and tell anything to, being comforted or sharing a laugh in return. She became fiercely passionate, and seemed fearless in all her endeavors and standing for what she believed in, which was something I admired greatly. I am still in shock over the loss this world has had, but I know McKenna has brightened many lives, including mine. She and her family are in my and my family's thoughts and hearts, always.

She was always a friend I could depend on and share anything with, being comforted or sharing a laugh in return. She became fiercely passionate, and someone who seemed fearless in all endeavors and standing for what she believed was right, which I admired greatly. I could not believe it when my son Izaiah mentioned Mckennas passing to me. He and Mckenna went to the same school. To me it was not possible. What a beautiful family. To the Fowlers, my heart goes out to you in this difficult time. Peace and love to you all.

That contagious smile was something that I will never forget. I was just a customer of Ziggys coffee and McKenna has been working there for a few years I think. Always a nice word always laughing and to me even if I didn’t know her very well she always left you with a good feeling. I have 3 kids of my own and the idea of loosing any of them is unbearable. To McKenna’s family my sincere condolences and i’m deeply sorry for your loss. A beautiful soul has left us.

I was so shocked and so, so saddened to learn - just today - of McKenna's death. I have always had such fond memories of McKenna from when she was a high school freshman in my Integrated English 9 class. She was kind, cheerful, thoughtful and insightful. She had a group of friends throughout high school who were likewise curious, intelligent, and outstanding young women. More recently, I reconnected with McKenna at the Ziggy's drive through, where we caught up on life for the few minutes it took to get my coffee, and where she brightened my morning with her smile. McKenna was and always will be a beautiful soul. I cannot express my heartbreak and I certainly cannot comprehend that of her family and close friends. I hope you find answers and I hope you find peace. My love to all of you.

I was absolutely blessed to be McKenna's math teacher for two years at Silver Creek High School. She brought joy and energy to the classroom. She loved learning and loved being a part of the community. She was intelligent, kind, a friend to everyone, and she took the time every year to write me a personal thank you note. I cannot express my sadness at her passing, yet I am so thankful I had the opportunity to know her as a student. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness towards all she came in contact with.

I am at a loss. McKenna was a former AP Lang student of mine at Silver Creek, and she was definitely one of my best and brightest. I always put her paper on top of my correcting pile, in order to establish what was possible- her writing was such a pleasure to read. What a beautiful and compassionate soul. My deepest condolences to her family. She will be sorely missed.
