Melinda J. McCaddon

Born on March 5, 1947, in Kansas City, Missouri, Melinda was the daughter of George McCaddon and Mary (Akolt) McCaddon. She spent her early childhood in Kansas City before moving to Boulder, Colorado, at the age of 11. Throughout her life she lived in the Boulder and Longmont area. She later lived in Cody, Wyoming, for many years before returning to Frederick, Colorado in 2023 where she made her home for the remainder of her life.

Melinda attended Mount Saint Gertrude Academy in Boulder. A homemaker, she dedicated herself to caring for her family and creating a warm and welcoming home.

She was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church and was a multi-talented woman who enjoyed knitting, sewing, and a variety of arts and crafts. She especially cherished time spent at the family vacation home in Grand Lake, Colorado. An avid reader, Melinda read books of all kinds.

Melinda is survived by her daughter, Margaret (Griffin) Sorensen; her brother, Mark McCaddon and his wife, Michelle; her sister, Jeanie Meredith; and her beloved grandchildren, Hannah Huff, Madeline Sorensen, and Warren Sorensen.

She was preceded in death by her sons, Peter Griffin and Michael Shaffer, and her parents, George McCaddon and Mary (Akolt) McCaddon.
