Michael Richard Mallory

Michael Richard Mallory passed away September 6, 2011 at Park Forest Care Center, Westminster, Colorado. He was 53 years old.Mike was born on March 6, 1958 in Grand Junction, Colorado, the son of Richard and Joan (Balliger) Mallory. Growing up in an Air Force family, Mike lived many places as a child. His family settled in Arvada, Colorado in 1970.Mike spent many years loving the great outdoors and the mountains. In his younger years he was an avid skier. In August, 1982, Mike suffered a life altering brain injury. After that time, Mike lost his way and spent many years searching for a meaningful path. A couple of years ago Mike finally found a home at the Peachtree Assisted Living in Clifton, Colorado, where he was accepted and understood.Mike was preceded in death by his grandparents, George and Myrtle Mallory and Louis and Elizabeth Balliger.Mike is survived by his parents Richard and Joan Mallory of Arvada, Colorado; his sisters Marta (Mark) Reid of Arvada, Colorado and Monique Miller of Fort Lupton, Colorado; his brother, Matt (Maureen) Mallory of Arvada, Colorado; nieces Mallory Reid and McKenzie Miller; nephews Mitchell Reid, Macguire Mallory and Brendan Mallory; great niece Maya Reid; a special cousin and friend, Robert (Vicky) Bray of Grand Junction, Colorado; and other family.A memorial mass will take place Monday, September 12, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Spirit of Christ Catholic Community in Arvada, Colorado. Cremation at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel and Crematory. Inurnment will be at the Lone Tree Cemetery in Telluride, Colorado.
