

Michael McNamara, 59, passed away November 18, 2018 at the TRU Hospice Care Center in Longmont.He was born December 21, 1958 in Hamilton, Ohio. Mike graduated from Ross High School in Ross, Ohio, the class of 1977 and attended Wilmington College in Wilmington, Ohio.Mike moved to Colorado in 1992, settling in Niwot in 1996. On May 16, 1998 he married Betsy Dickerson in Boulder.Mike was self-employed as a home inspector. He also spent many years working as a carpenter and a general contractor. His excellent carpentry and building skills were well recognized. Mike concluded his work career as the facilities manager at Rocky Mountain Christian Church-Niwot.He was a member at Rocky Mountain Christian Church and active in the Men's group. Mike was a long-time volunteer and past member of the Board of Directors for Habitat for Humanity of the St. Vrain Valley. He was currently serving as President of the Board for Guided Hope and he had participated in the building of a residential building at Mountain States Children's Home. Too numerous to mention them all, Mike volunteered for, or contributed to, many other charities.Mike loved his friends and family, and spending time with them was his favorite pastime. He enjoyed playing golf, football and hiking and biking in the mountains. He had a unique rapport with animals and loved his pets dearly.He is survived by his wife Betsy, step-son Corey Cannon, grandson Jack Cannon, sister Kathy Dunn (husband Robert), aunt Eileen Fletcher and Mike and Betsy's extended families.A celebration of Mike's life will take place at 10:30 am on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at Rocky Mountain Christian Church-Niwot Campus. Cremation entrusted to Ahlberg Funeral Chapel and Crematory. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are requested to either: Guided Hope, Habitat for Humanity of the St. Vrain Valley, or Mountain States Children's Home.
