Mildred Ruby Haas

Our mother, Mildred, has gone to join hands again with our dad and their Lord Jesus on July 22, 2011. She was 90. Mildred was born on March 19, 1921. She was the daughter of John and Elizabeth Schaffer. She grew up in the Berthoud area and attended Berthoud High School. She met Henry Haas and married on October 6, 1940, spending 65 years together until his death in 2006. She spent most of her life helping Henry with the farming and feeding cattle in the Brighton-Longmont area.Mildred loved her flower garden, occasional trips to Central City, Jolly Dozen Club and had a large doll collection. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. She was a loyal member of the Christ Congregational Church where she remained a member until her passing.Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, John and Elizabeth Schaffer; her husband Henry; three brothers, Sam, John and Henry and one sister, Ann Sterkel.Mildred is survived by three daughters, Donna Renoad, Darlene Hyde (Keith) and Dianne Jones (Vern), all of Longmont; one sister, Esther Robinson of Auburn, Alabama; five grandchildren, Rhonda Olinger (Craig), Kent Hyde, Kristin Corwin (Owen), Kim Sanger (Jim) and Stacy Parriott (Jeff); nine great-grandchildren, Samantha, Jennifer, Heather, Joshua, Jacob, Jessica, Chase, Emily and Sydney and five great-great-grandchildren, Ruby Mae, Sydny, Emory, Chl and Clifton.Visitation will be 6:00 “ 8:00 PM on Monday, July 25, 2011 at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel. A funeral service will be held 10:00 AM on Tuesday, July 26, 2011 at Christ Congregational Church. Interment at Longmont Mountain View Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to HospiceCare of Boulder and Broomfield Counties or to Christ Congregational Church and may be mailed to Ahlberg Funeral Chapel.
