With heavy hearts, we share the news of the unexpected passing of our wonderful sister, Mollie Wright, on February 16, 2025 in Longmont, Colorado. Mollie had a great sense of humor and was an independent thinker. She was a loyal friend who treasured her longtime friendships. She was also passionate about collecting antiques and was an avid reader.
Mollie was born on November 19, 1957 in Columbus, Ohio to James and Icyle Wright (Sayre). She was the oldest of five children. Being the eldest child came with many responsibilities and rules; however, since she was the first child of five, this also provided for more photo opportunities.
The Wright family relocated to Culbertson, Nebraska from Ohio when Mollie was in elementary school. Mollie attended elementary, junior high, and high school at Culbertson Public School. After high school, she moved to Longmont, Colorado where she continued her education and met the love-of-her-life, Bradley Light. They met in 1983 and were inseparable. They had a wonderful life together.
Mollie worked as an accountant for the majority of her life. She began her career as an in-house accountant and then branched out and started her own accounting business, Mollie A. Wright, EA, PA, ABA. She was a well-respected and dedicated professional who loved what she did, and her clients were always her number-one priority. She was proud to be able to go toe-to-toe with the IRS or the Colorado Department of Revenue to advocate for her clients. She was very successful in these endeavors.
Mollie was preceded in death by her husband and soulmate of 42 years, Bradley Light, and her beloved dog, Coco Chanel. She is survived by her sisters Jamie Meyers and Angel Nitzel, brothers Shane and Quinton Wright, and sister-in-law Denise Sumikawa (Ken). Mollie is also survived by many wonderful aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Though she is no longer with us, Mollie’s independent spirit will live on in the hearts of everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be greatly missed. Messages of condolence to her family can be sent in care of Ahlberg Funeral Chapel.
A Celebration of Life service and reception will be held at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel on Friday March 14, 2025 at 11am. The service will be livestreamed. Here is the livestream link for those who are unable to attend.
