Mona Frances Stevens, 88, of Broomfield, CO died February 18, 2018 at Sunrise at Flatirons. Mona was born November 18, 1929 in Williamsport, Maryland to Martha Frances (Anderson) and Arley Roosevelt Crist, Sr. Following her high school graduation she went on to receive her Master’s Degree in Education and spent her career as a teacher in the high school education system. She had also worked for Fairchild Aircraft as a timekeeper. She married John Roy Stevens, Jr in Williamsport, MD.
Mona attended Rehoboth United Methodist Church for many years and had volunteered in their food bank ministry as well as volunteering for Habitat for Humanity to help build houses. She had been very athletic as a young lady and enjoyed basketball and bowling over the years and had remained very active in her fitness club doing both Zumba and Yoga.
Mona ended her teaching career when her husband had a stroke. She continued to care for him until his passing. She had also taken care of her mother as she aged.
She is survived by her son Randy Stevens of Lafayette, CO and her brothers Arley R. Crist, Jr “Bucky” and his wife Irene of Williamsport, MD and Stephen L. Crist and his wife Joni of Big Poole, MD.
Preceding her in death are her parents and her husband.
No local services will be held.
Services and interment will be in Williamsport, MD.
