Myrnaloy "Myrna" Marie Gould

Myrnaloy Marie Gould was born on January 14, 1934, in East Chicago, Indiana, to Fred and Nora Ray Schulze. She was the seventh of eight children. As a young child, she moved with her family to the community of "Wall Street" in the mountains above Boulder, Colorado, where her father and grandfather worked as gold miners.

She met the love of her life, Lee Grand "Bud" Gould, at a dance at the Altona Grange. They were married on July 21, 1951, and began a life together on the family farm east of Longmont. There they raised seven children while milking cows, growing crops, and building a home centered on hard work, faith, and family. Myrna lived on the farm for 66 years.

A devoted homemaker, Myrna worked tirelessly and never sought recognition for all she did. Her greatest joy was her family. She supported her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren in their 4-H projects, school activities, and various other extracurricular activities. The Gould family's commitment to agriculture and community was recognized when they were named the Boulder County Fair Family of the Year in 1981. Myrna and Bud also loved opening their home to friends and family, hosting picnics and celebratory gatherings on the farm over the years.

After retiring, Myrna spent her time doing the things she enjoyed most—needlepoint, cross-stitch, collecting vintage dolls, and word search puzzles. She delighted in creating beautiful handmade gifts for family and friends, stitching enough baby blankets to welcome not only her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, but even the next generation of great-great-grandchildren. She was also a longtime member of Rinn United Methodist Church.

Myrna was a woman of strong will, quick wit, and an unforgettable spirit. Her determination and resilience were evident until the very end. Just days before her passing, she was playing catch from her hospital bed with her great-grandson—a moment that perfectly captured the woman she was.

Myrna is preceded in death by her husband, Lee "Bud" Gould; her sons, Terry and Danny Gould; her grandson, Jeffrey Gould; her parents; and her seven siblings.

She is survived by her children, Jerry Gould of Wiggins, Lynda Gould (Louis Kelley) of Milliken, Dennis Gould (Jackie) of Longmont, Merri Lawley of Milliken, and Robert Gould (Jane) of Loveland. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Tonya (Brent), Tracy (Jon), Lee, Jamie, Travis (Kim), Curtis (Jessica), Ruben (Molly), Justin (Stephanie), Felicia (JJ), Kevin, Josh (Lisa), Haley, Jake (Shelby), and Joe (Ali); 30 great-grandchildren; one soon-to-be great-great-grandchild; sisters-in-law Emma Snyder of Erie and Bonnie Morris of Illinois; and many extended family members and friends.

One of Myrna's most faithful companions was her beloved little dog, Molly. In her final moments, Molly never left her side, faithfully resting with her until she peacefully passed—a quiet testament to the unconditional bond they shared.

Myrna will be remembered for her strength, steady presence, and the unconditional love she showed her family every day. Her legacy lives on through the many generations she helped nurture, and she will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 20, 2026, from 5:00–7:00 p.m. at Howe Mortuary, 439 Coffman Street, Longmont, CO 80501.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 21, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at FaithPoint Church, 833 15th Avenue, Longmont, CO 80501. Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery, 620 11th Street, Longmont, CO 80501.
