Nancy grew up mostly in Lakewood, CO with her parents, her sister, Shirley, and her two brothers, David and Dale. She graduated from Alameda High School in 1965 and briefly attended Western State in Gunnison, CO.
She met the love of her life, Kenneth Krumrey and was married at the young age of 19 in 1967. Ken and Nancy had a beautiful life together for 56 years and did everything together. After marrying, they quickly had two children, Laura and Ken, who are 11 months apart. They became a young family of four by 1969. The Krumrey family moved to Longmont in 1978.
Nancy worked in engineering quality control at MiniScribe/Maxtor for 22 years until they were bought out by Seagate. She then had a career of 8 years at Medtronics in Louisville, CO. She was a hard worker and enjoyed the many friendships she made at work.
Nancy was bright, beautiful and kind with a quiet and calm nature. She loved her family with her whole heart but especially loved being a grandma and great-grandma. You could always find her being her grandchildren’s biggest cheerleader at any of their events. She put her family first and treasured her close friends. When she was younger, she enjoyed playing tennis and softball and later learned to play golf. She loved the mountains- especially the family cabin in Grand Lake that her parents built in the 80s. She and her family enjoyed summers at Lake McConaughy- boating, waterskiing and fishing. Nancy and Ken spent many years riding and having adventures on their motorcycle. She also loved to travel, especially to Hawaii and the beach. Nancy was an avid reader and probably read thousands of books in her lifetime. She was a talented seamstress and made beautiful quilts for her family to treasure. She also taught her only granddaughter how to sew and helped her with many projects.
Nancy is survived by many people who loved her dearly and will miss her greatly - her husband Ken, daughter Laura (Scott) Randolph, son Ken (Jane) Krumrey and 5 grandchildren - Natalee (Caleb) Brost, Kaden (Morgan Allen) Randolph, Ryan (Lisa) Randolph, Joseph Krumrey and Mitchell Krumrey. Two great-granddaughters’ Nora Brost and Amari Randolph and a bonus great-granddaughter Arleigh Berndt. She is also survived by her sister Shirley (Jerry) Williams and brother David (Gerrie) Hendrickson and many nieces and nephews and their children. Also surviving her are Ken and Nancy’s close friends, Mark and Lorrie Covert.
Nancy always had Jesus in her heart and leaned on him closely the past few years.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her younger brother, Dale Hendrickson.
We will celebrate Nancy’s beautiful life on Friday July 5th, 2024 at 11:00 am at Howe Mortuary in Longmont, CO. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations be made to the Longmont Humane Society. Nancy loved dogs, especially her first fur baby, Crissy, who was by her side for 18 years.
