Norma, fondly known as "Dude" by her friends, was born on January 22, 1931 in Cleveland, Ohio. She moved with her family as a young child to Boulder and graduated from Boulder High where she made lifelong best friends; Jeannette, Cathy, Veta and Jackie.
At the age of 18, she married Thomas Rueben Owen, and went on to have 4 beautiful children. Norma lived a full life, often enjoying the outdoors, gardening and could be found every morning feeding the birds and squirrels in her abundant garden. Her love of animals extended to rescuing kittens from her basement window well, two of which became family pets. She always had the companionship of a dog and even raised sheep! She was so well loved by her neighbors that she was "adopted" as grandma.
She is survived by her children; Mike and his wife Athena, Nancy and her husband Gregg, John, Dave and his wife Mei Mei, and her grandchildren; Timothy and his wife Stephanie, Rory and his wife Amber, Clover, Gregg and his wife Monica, Justin, Jamie and her husband Joey, Jenna and her husband Isaiah, and great-grandchildren Isla, Ali, Arianna, Andrew, Gage, Anthony, Abram, Anastasia, Gracie, Peyton, Evelynne, Jocelynne, Ensley, Hattie, Nylah, Noah, and great-great-grandchild Alicia.
The date of her celebration of life is to be announced.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Longmont Humane Society.
