Patricia A. Bailey

Patricia Ann Bailey, 67, of Longmont, CO died 27th May 2014. Dr. Bailey, daughter of Chester A. Bailey and Martha J. Buckley, passed away early in the morning on May 27th at Longmont United Hospital after a long battle with chronic sinus infections and pneumonia. She is survived by her husband Daniel L. Hoover, her two children Patrick Bailey-Hoover and Rachel Bailey-Hoover, her brother Chester Bailey, and her three grand-children Finn Hoover, Rachel Woller, and Liam Woller. Dr. Bailey was born in Marion, OH and moved to Colorado to pursue her MA in Literature at Colorado State University in 1968 where she met her husband, Daniel. She held a PhD in English Literature from the University of Colorado and was a Professor of Literature at Colorado State University until March of 2014 when her illness required she take a medical leave of absence. She had a passion for knowledge and the written word. She also had a love of genealogy and documented family ancestors to a time before the pilgrims. She was a brilliant woman, a passionate educator, and loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She will be missed by her family and friends. Services will be held at First Lutheran Church in Longmont this Monday, June 2nd at 10 am. A grave site service will follow at Burlington Cemetery.
