I was very lucky to have known Patti Summers. I took car of the Summers' lawn for over a decade. Patricia and Gil Summers were no doubt my favorite customers that I had. Patti ALWAYS had a smile on her face and would often give an occasional "motherly" hug when I went to the door of their home to talk with them. Gil and Patti often had me into their home to chat, a welcome rest on a hot day. I am very glad to have known Patricia Summers and equally as glad to still know her wonderful husband Gil. Prayers and Love to all of the Summers family. -A friend, Jim Kosenski

For almost 23 years we have lived across the street from Patti and Gil. We will miss Patti's beautiful eyes, her ever present smile and eagerness to always hear about the latest news on our family. Patti and Gil both embraced our family as we moved into the neighborhood in November of 1997. My father had just passed and my mom joined our family in the new home. Patti was quick to welcome my mom with outings together. It was very obvious to our entire family that Patti's heart was filled with love and concern for others. I will miss our long breakfasts and lunches together as we would share the events in our lives that were dear to our hearts. So very thankful to God for the sweet gift of Patti in our lives.

Patti was a special friend and neighbor for 28 years. I loved the times that we spent together. I remember the first time that we met. The sale associate for our housing development told me that she knew that I was going to love Patti and that she was so nice and had great taste in decorating . She was so right. She and Gil embraced us into their lives, taking care to always invite Kurt over for happy hour when I was out of town. She shared my mom's birthday and became long distant friends. I always enjoyed hearing Patti's stories of the early years with Gil and the boys and all of their travels together. I will miss our times shopping, seeing movies and long talks over breakfast. Much love to all, Marta

I grew up living next to Patty and Gil my entire life. They were like an extra set of grandparents to me, always there from my early birthdays to later my graduations and my wedding. I fondly remember going over to their house right next door to us, or seeing Patty or Gil our in their yard as I was leaving. Patty was always incredibly loving towards me, and though I mourn her passing, I will always hold memories of her in my heart fondly. I couldn’t have asked for better people to grow up next to.

What a joy to have Patti as a neighbor for 20 plus years in Niwot! She always remembered my kids birthday and would give them a book as a present when they were young. She also had a basket full of kids books when my kids would arrive uninvited just to say hi and be welcomed inside and so they could read a book from Pattis basket! Our cats would do he same uninvited entry through the back door not to read of course but Patti would always welcome them the same! She was one of the sweetest nicest person I had the pleasure of know! I will truly miss her!

Uncle Gil, Chris, and Rich,
I am truly sorry for your loss. Aunt Patti was such a beautiful soul. I have many great photo cards from her. When I was younger I remember being so thrilled to get a card from her. It took me a while to get the hang of deciphering her lovely looping handwriting, but I think it helped me be able to read historical documents. She always wrote to me like I was a young woman and not a kid, and to me that meant the world. I am truly blessed to have had her in my life.
May God bless & comfort you all,

Along with several others of the BVSD Speech/Language group, I send you, Gil, and the whole family my condolences at Pat's passing. She and I attended CU together and became closer friends when we worked together in the Boulder Valley School District. She was a marvelous colleague, and a skilled and caring professional, who was dedicated to her work with children. Beyond that, she was a dear friend who always wanted to know how I was doing, and how my family was. Her huge smile and joyful laugh are the things I remember most fondly. We stayed in contact and remained friends when I moved from Boulder to Washington state. Her connection to Washington added to our bond, as did her enthusiasm when my son became a pilot. Pat knew all about being an aviation family. We have lost a very dear, dear friend, mother, and wife. I wish peace and strength to all who knew and loved Pat.

Gil, Chris, and Rich, I am deeply sorry for your loss. I have so many fond memories of Patty but what stands out most was her beautiful, joyful spirit. Her smile, kind words and laughter lit up the room. She led such an adventurous life and loved sharing her stories. Your mom and mine would spend hours at the kitchen table talking about every day life and probably discussing whether raising boys or girls was more difficult. I enjoyed every minute we spent together. My thoughts are with you and the rest of the family. She will be missed,

It was a joy to know Patti for many years when we worked as speech-language pathologists (SLPs) in the Boulder Valley Schools. Later, we were members of the retired SLP "Lunch Bunch." May sadness of her passing soon be replaced by fond memories, of which I have many.

I was so sad to read of Patty's passing. She was my mentor in Boulder Valley Public Schools, a terrific person and speech/language pathologist in every way. I especially remember her for her concern for the students and their parents, as well as her warmth with a ready smile.
Is there a favorite charity we can contribute to in her memory?
