Paul Richard Barela

Paul Richard Barela ""Rich"" of Platteville, CO passed away May 3, 2008. He was 56.Paul was born August 2, 1951 in Longmont, Colorado to Leo and Angeline (Mora) Barela.He attended school in Longmont until 1968 when, at the age of 17, he began working for the Kuner Corporation. He worked for the corporation for 16 years. Shortly after leaving Kuner Paul began working for the Golden Aluminum Company in Ft. Lupton where he continued to work for the last 24 years. A spokeswoman for Golden Aluminum said, ""Paul was a courteous and dependable man that will be deeply missed by all at Golden Aluminum"". Paul married the love of his life Patricia Marie Dier on August 22, 1995, in Longmont. Paul had a generous heart, a passion for softball, wrestling, and of course his 1970 Chevy Chevelle. All who knew him will surely miss Paul.Paul's parents preceded him in death. Paul is survived by his wife of 13 years, Patricia of Platteville; his sisters: Georgia Arvizu and Irene Barela both of Longmont; two brothers: Bob (Terry) Barela of Longmont and Louie (Denise) Barela of Firestone; mother in-law and father in-law, Donna (Andrew) Dier of Longmont; sister in-laws: Penny (Kenneth) McClain of Splendor, TX and Andrea (John) Bennett of Torrington, WY; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Visitation hours will be from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Howe Mortuary in Longmont on Wednesday, May 7, 2008 with Vigil Services following Mass of the Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, May 8, 2008 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, with the Reverend Brian Morrow officiating.
