
Paul D. Jones Jr. passed away outside Longmont, CO on August 31, 2011. Paul was born on September 27, 1920 in Sioux City, Iowa. He was the oldest of twins, a brother Feldman Jones, currently residing in Sioux City, Iowa and a sister Fanchon Bosma, who has preceded him in death. He grew up in Sioux City and reminisced about those early years spending summers on his grandparents' farm.He graduated from Central High School in Sioux City and attended the University of Nebraska, graduating with a degree in business. At the university, he met his beautiful wife of 67 years, Dorothy Jean Saeger of Norfolk, Nebraska, and they married on October 24, 1943. He served in the United States Army and was stationed in France. He was a World War II veteran.Paul attended St. Paul's Lutheran Church and was a member of Faith Lutheran in Sioux City.He became co-owner of Jones Distributing Company along with his father, Paul Jones Sr. and brother, Feldman Jones. The company was a major distributor of appliances in the Midwest.Paul enjoyed camping with his wife and family, watching sports and was an avid fan of baseball, basketball, and the Denver Broncos. As a member of the Sioux City Boat Club, he often played golf. Fishing on the lakes in Minnesota and Canada were favorite vacations. Picnic breakfasts and blanket tosses at Stone Park were always fun.A stroke that occurred exactly six years ago prior to the date of his death did frustrate him but he overcame it and walked with a cane. Subsequently, he became a fan of the TV Show House. He realized how much Jesus had brought him through and he was grateful.Paul's sense of humor, intelligence, hard working ethic, impeccable honesty, love of family, and love of God made him a remarkable man. Paul is survived by his wife, Dorothy Jean Jones; his younger brother, Feldman Jones; and his sister, Fanchon Bosma, who has preceded him in death.Daughters Cynthia (Jones) Hughes, who has preceded him in death, son-in-law Don Hughes, Cathleen (Jones) Glinton, Carol (Jones) Woodley and son-in-law Michael Woodley, Cherri (Jones) Woodley and son-in-law Patrick Woodley; his grandchildren, Jennifer Woodley Kellogg and spouse Brian Kellogg and great-grandchildren Jack, Brady and Ellarie, Paul Michael Woodley and spouse Ann Marie Woodley and great-grandchildren Gregory, Ryan and Michael, Jacquelynn Woodley Perkins and spouse Randy Perkins, Andrea Woodley Dratch and spouse Steve Dratch, Justin Woodley, Averri Woodley, Cameron Glinton, Clayton Glinton and Curt Glinton.Paul will be truly missed by many other family members and friends.
