These words were written by Peter Jr. in dedication to Peter Sr. and were graciously read at his service by Father Teri. 

In the name of our beloved father, Peter Sr., his family and all those who knew him, I want to express our deepest gratitude for the beautiful life he lived. 

From a young age, I understood that we would always share him with others. His love was boundless and he had an insatiable capacity of compassion for everyone. 

Recently I discovered the true meaning of the word “zealot.” It means to never have dominion over others but to live solely in servitude to them. Our father embodied this always prioritizing the interests of others in every aspect of his life.

I often reminded him that, although he wasn’t a priest , he was a holy man. This  brought him immense joy. 

Pop, you were a beacon of light for those you loved, and your support guided me through the greatest challenge I’ve been faced with. Oh, how I will miss your voice and our enlightening talks and speaking Italian with you my dear father. It’s always been my greatest honor to have been Peter Junior. Our wonderful Poppa, you have left an indelible mark on all our lives and your promise of hope will forever inspire us.

In every endeavor throughout my life I know that you will be with me, guiding me from the shadows of my heart.

You taught us the importance of building a longer table, not a higher wall, and to embrace inclusivity and respect for all people and religions.

We are forever grateful for the love you shared and your words “goodness follows goodness” will remain with us all as a reminder of how to live our lives.

Peter was so kind, generous and understanding. I thank Peter for his encouraging and warmth nature. I remember your ever present smile that soothed hearts and brought calm. 
I'm sorry that such  a beautiful, good person left his family.  He sure love you guys.  Sending you blessings 🙏 It's so hard grieving the loss of such a good human 🙏

I’m so sorry for the loss of your beloved, Peter Conti, Sr. It was an honor to be present at his memorial service this morning. I worked with Peter, at Maria Droste Services, for many years. He was kind, generous, wise, and he had a great sense of humor. I was fortunate enough to inherit his office when he retired, and it was always a special place, because part of his spirit was hanging out there.  He helped install a tile kitchen backsplash in my first home. We ate pizza on the porch and chatted. We always spoke in “Italian” as I called him Cosa Nostra and we carried on with “rigatoni”, “spaghettini” etc. He was a wonderful human, and I will miss him. Thank you. Be well. Laura Pentoney

Dear Carol and Family,
Pete was and is the best. He helped us many times and would never take more than thank you. Pete was a holy man and a saint. We should all seek to be like him.

I am so sorry to hear of Peter's passing!  I was blessed to work as a therapist along side Peter for 25 years at Maria Droste Counseling Center in Denver!  I so appreciated his skills, his warmth, his faith and his wisdom!  Regardless of how difficult his work with clients may have been, Peter truly believed in God's compassionate love for EVERYONE!!!  Further, Peter's sense of humor was contagious!  He reminded all of us that no matter what, laughter needed to be a part of our daily lives!
You are truly missed, Peter!

My dear sweet, spirited  & loving Uncle. Your had a true light that glowed brighter as you got older. You often remembered your roots with deep love & an aching heart. And I treasured hearing those stories. Your stories.  My children simply adored you. Often you’d come “home” & couldn’t get enough of family. Only the be outdone by enjoying foods of your soul as you’d say. You were woven with rich traditions, the love of God & your family. Your relationship with your sister, my Mom, was so very special. It was always evident in your communications. When she passed, I know a piece of your heart dimmed. But not as much as when your Lisa passed. That pain was ever present. I’m confident you’re soaring with them as well as your Mom, Uncles Tommy, Frank, Jimmy, Aunt Ann…sitting at that big table, soaking in all that joy again. I love you dearly Uncle. I’m blessed to have visited with you & your Carol. Watch over your boys & those dearest to them. They need you. But we all know, God needed you more. Love your Niece, DIna

The Coffey family will treasure  Pete for a long time.  Pete wore a alot of different  hats  in  our family -friend, brother , sponsor,mentor,  counselor, and most important  role model!!!  He is and has been a spiritual  treasure  to all he met!!!

I cried today learning of Peter's passing. He was a wonderful caring person/therapist . He made a profound difference in me and John's life. He was more than a therapist he was a mentor, a friend, the genuine article.  We will miss him terribly. John says he was a friend and always explained things to him when we were talking. I always felt warm and comfortable talking to him. He was a light in both our lives. We pray for his wife and family during this time.
