He was born March 7, 1939 in Monrovia, California. He was the son of Franklin Donald and Fern Maxine (Cook) Hogue. He graduated from Barnes High School in Barnes, Kansas. In high school he played football, basketball and baseball. He attended Cincinnati Bible Seminary, Manhattan Christian College, San Jose State and graduated from Regis University in Denver.
He married his high-school sweetheart, Delores Calkins in Manhattan, Kansas in 1958. They moved to San Jose, California where he was employed by IBM. He transferred to Boulder, Colorado where he was a systems analyst and computer programmer at IBM for 34 years. He also worked for Speech Systems and Syvox after retirement.
He enjoyed the outdoors; fishing, hunting, boating, snow-skiing and golf. He also enjoyed college sports and was an avid supporter of the CU Buffs football and basketball programs. He was a wonderful photographer and talented artist who enjoyed creating artwork in a variety of media. He was a member of the Longmont Artists Guild.
He loved God, his family and his friends. He was a member of First Christian/Life Bridge Christian Church for 55 years.
He is preceded in death by his parents. Survived by his loving wife, Delores, daughters Terri (Dan) Murphy,
Rachelle (Santos) Luiz, grandchildren Katie (Josh) Draven, Joel Crane, Doug (Meghann) Lennon, Kelsey Crane, three great-grand daughters, Olivia, Arlandria and Isobel Draven and many cousins.
A Memorial service will be held on Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at 11:00 am, at LifeBridge Christian Church, in Longmont. A reception will follow the service.
