

Regina Katherine Montminy, of Longmont, died Sunday, March 9, 2008 at Boulder Community Hospital. She was 89.Regina was born January 18, 1919, in New York City, to Catherine (Carroll) and William Creighton. She grew up and graduated from high school in Danbury Connecticut. It was here that she met and married Charles Knapp in 1937. She later divorced and married Arthur Montminy in 1956. The couple made their home in Connecticut traveled all over the world and retired in Riverside, California. Art preceded her in death in 1984. Regina moved to Longmont in 1999 to be closer to her family.Mrs. Montminy loved Longmont and all of the activities the city had to offer. She was an active member of the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church Community, the Moose, the Elks Lodge, and the Easy Breathers Club. She spent countless days and evenings at the senior center dancing and visiting and enjoyed her time up in Black Hawk. Regina will be remembered for her bright smile and her kind words. She never met a person she didn't call a friend or a flower that didn't make her smile. She loved children, especially her great-grandsons whom she called her ""sunshines"".She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Art Montminy; a sister, Margaret Kolesar; a brother, Frances Creighton; and a grandson, John Murray.She is survived by her daughter, Peggy Murray of Longmont; her former son-in-law John Murray of Danbury Connecticut; and her granddaughter, Liz Murray and her husband, Joe Check, and their children, Tanner and Travis Check, all of Longmont. She was greatly loved and admired and will be dearly missed by all that knew her.Howe Mortuary and Cremation Services, Longmont is handling arrangements. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 13, 2008 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Longmont.
