Rhonda Sue Edingfield Miner, beloved wife, daughter, sister, aunt, friend, and animal lover, passed away surrounded by the love and memories of those whose lives she touched. Born in Brownsville, Texas on April 24, 1961. Rhonda brought joy, laughter, and strength to everyone fortunate enough to know her.
From an early age, Rhonda demonstrated remarkable courage and independence. Living with juvenile diabetes for 59 years, she learned to give herself insulin injections at just six years old. She carried that same determination throughout her life, facing challenges with resilience, humor, and grace.
Growing up, Rhonda loved telling jokes, playing softball, and sharing her contagious, hearty laugh. She was known for her adventurous spirit, quick wit, and love of fun. She attended high school and completed some college before beginning her work career at the City of Denver, City of Longmont, and finishing as a pharmacy technician at Salud Pharmacy, where her intelligence and dedication served her well.
In 1986, Rhonda made her home in Longmont, Colorado. She married the love of her life, Mark Alan Miner, and together they built a life filled with friendship, laughter, and cherished memories.
Those who knew Rhonda describe her as dependable, competitive, honest, and exceptionally smart. She was a devoted rule-follower with a generous heart, always ready with a thoughtful gift, a joke to brighten someone's day, or a helping hand when needed. She loved playing games, bowling, spending time with family, and cheering on her favorite sports teams, especially the Denver Broncos. She also enjoyed poker, lodge activities, patriotic events, and, above all, animals.
Rhonda was deeply involved in her community and service organizations. She was active in the International Order of the Rainbow for Girls, served as Past Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star, was First Lady of the Longmont Elks Lodge, was a member of the Order of the Amaranth, and Order of the Moose Lodge. Through these organizations, she formed lasting friendships and dedicated countless hours to helping others.
Rhonda is survived by her loving husband, Mark Alan Miner; her mother, Karen Edingfield; her sister, Teresa Friess; her brother, Kerry Edingfield; her mother-in-law, Marilyn Miner; her niece, Ashlee (Jay); and her nephews, Alex, Andy, and Parker (Megan), along with many extended family members and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Ronald Edingfield and father-in-law, Clyde R. Miner Jr.
Rhonda had a special place in her heart for animals. She is survived by her beloved cats, Mia, Donut, and Dino, and was preceded in death by many cherished pets who undoubtedly greeted her with wagging tails and purring welcomes.
Rhonda's legacy of laughter, loyalty, generosity, and unwavering strength will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Her family and friends will remember her warm smile, her quick jokes, her competitive spirit, and the kindness she showed to both people and animals throughout her life.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the Humane Society, causes that were especially meaningful to Rhonda.
She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered forever.
